FINE LINE ACQUIRES THE YEAR OF THE YAO

New York, New York (September 30, 2004) - Fine Line has acquired the worldwide rights to Jim Stern and Adam Del Deo’s The Year of the Yao, a documentary chronicling the story of Chinese basketball phenomenon and Houston Rockets center Yao Ming that recently screened at the Toronto Film Festival.

The Year of the Yao follows the 7’6” Ming during his first year in the NBA and reveals how he coped with the pressures of being a rookie while knowing that he represented the hopes of 1.2 billion people in his homeland. It was produced by Endgame Entertainment and NBA Entertainment.

Fine Line Features currently has Maria Full of Grace in release in partnership with HBO Films. Also in release currently is John Waters’ comedy A Dirty Shame starring Tracey Ullman, Johnny Knoxville, Chris Isaak and Selma Blair.
